Within the roleplay, a Pokemon's stats are influenced by its nature. Pokemon natures are as follows:
Hardy- Stats stay the same Hasty- Speed +, Defense - Quirky- Stats stay the same Lonely- Attack +, Defense - Brave- Attack +, Speed - Adamant- Attack +, Sp. Attack - Bold- Defense +, Attack - Docile- Stats stay the same Relaxed- Defense +, Speed - Impish- Defense +, Sp. Attack - Lax- Defense +, Sp. Defense - Timid- Speed +, Attack - Serious- Stats stay the same Jolly- Speed +, Sp. Attack - Naive- Speed +, Sp. Defense - Naughty- Attack +, Sp. Defense - Modest- Sp. Attack +, Attack - Mild- Sp. Attack +, Defense - Quiet- Sp. Attack +, Speed - Bashful- Stats stay the same Rash- Sp. Attack +, Sp. Defense - Calm- Sp. Defense +, Attack - Gentle- Sp. Defense +, Defense - Sassy- Sp. Defense +, Speed - Careful- Sp. Defense +, Sp. Attack -
However statistics ought to change with each of these natures, however, most referees will not take them into account, meaning that they do not affect the gameplay very much. In this way, it is encouraged to choose an actual nature for your Pokemon to act like, so then the nature can actually show through in your roleplay, and you can have your character interact with his or her Pokemon. This is honestly one of the easiest ways to make your roleplaying several times better and more fun.
