A'ight, *cracks knuckles* this is going to be pretty casual. So here's the sitch: somehow or another, everyone ends up in an obviously haunted mansion. This place pulls out all the stops - there's almost every movie cliche in there. Knowing us, there are probably going to be many wacky hijinks. We'll just start out with arriving at said giant-spooky-mansion-in-the-middle-of-nowhere... and see what happens. Will there be supernatural creatures out for our blood? Will we learn to use the Power of Friendship to blast our way out? Or will none of us even notice the creepiness, instead proposing picnic lunches in the courtyard? You decide!

I'll be writing up my first post soonish. Let's see what happens.

Quinn cursed incoherently, her knuckles white against the steering wheel. The car was out of gas, her cell didn't have a signal, and she had no idea where she was. Her only clue was that she was stuck in some kind of forest - outside the windows were nothing but a mass of trees. Trees so tall and wide must have been hundreds of years old.

This was turning out to be a crappy day.

The morning was filled with tiny nuisances. Quinn woke up early in the morning to the smoke alarm, which meant her dad was trying to make breakfast. A nice thought, but it was common knowledge that he only survived bachelorhood on canned soup and frozen waffles. She put on her glasses to check the clock: five-thirty AM on a Saturday. The week before had been rather stressful, so she was hoping to sleep in, but she just couldn't fall asleep again. She was hungry enough to try whatever was smoking up the kitchen, and the results were disastrous. The next couple hours were composed of huddling by the toilet in case she threw up. When that didn't solve her nauseousness, Quinn decided to go outside for a spell. She took the grocery list from the fridge and drove off in her sister's car, since she didn't have one of her own and her sister was never up until noon.

The grocery store was only two minutes away from her house. Two minutes, tops, on a very busy street in the suburbs of Ohio. It was an easy drive that she memorized in her early childhood.

So how the hell did she get here?

Her head hurt, her stomach hurt, and she was out in who-knows-where with no way back. Infuriated with everything, Quinn pressed her forehead against the wheel with a resounding BEEEEEEEP.

At this point, the only thing she could do was wander about in the woods. There were some dark shapes beyond the trees; maybe someone lived in the area...

Joshua swore darkly under his breath, knees tucked into his chest. The car was out of gas, his mobile didn't have a signal, and he had no idea where he was. Well, he knew he was in Quinn's sisters car, in Ohio, on a student transfer, but still. No idea.

This was turning out to be a crappy day.

The morning was filled with annoyances. Joshua woke up early to the smoke alarm, which meant Quinn's dad was trying to make breakfast. Joshua himself had been told to avoid anything that vaguely resembled food that had been blackened, as this was an attempt at 'cooking' as she called it. He groaned, rolled over, and studied the clock face with pained squinting. "Is that seven or eight thirty?" he'd ask Quinn. He didn't like the answer he'd gotten. Deciding he wasn't hungry anymore, he slept through the morning. He was deftly woken up at about nine by the sound of retching coming bathroom-wards.

When Quinn had decided it was best to freshen up, Joshua was dragged along. He slipped into the car through the front door and sat silent for a bit. He was still tired as all hell, and didn't quite care how presentable he was.

So how the hell did he get here?

His head hurt, his feelings hurt, and he was out in who-knows-where with no way back. Slightly irritated at everything (as is the british way), Joshua groaned- before jumping slightly in his seat as the horn screamed.

At this point, he was Quinn's responsibility.

Daniel finally managed to gather enough money to travel to America after so long. His first stop was to go and see Quinn and Josh, knowing that they are staying in the same place because of some student transfer thing. He arrived after a long and horrible flight on the plane, so he called a taxi to take him the rest of the way.

When he got to Quinn's house, Daniel could not get an answer at the door. He sighed deeply, hoping he could have a nice rest from the journey. That's when he saw it. There was a trail of what seemed to be petrol from a car. It started from the driveway and continued down the road. Figuring that there was nothing else to do, he decided to follow it in hopes of finding where everybody was.

After a good long walk of following this trail, something felt strange. His head started to go all light and woozy before passing out.

Daniel finally awoke again, but something was off. The surroundings were completly different to what he was in before he passed out. He still had his suitcase full of stuff though, but that was the least of his worries right now. He was in even more of an unfamiliar place despite already being in an unfamiliar place and the map didn't help at all.

Daniel then saw something that resembled a car in the distance. Hopefully there could be someone that can help him figure out where he is and how to get back to where he was before. So he slowly started to walk towards it while being careful.

[Josh omg your post made me laugh so loudly, hahah]

It's early morning... or is it late night? Scott couldn't tell anymore. His job has him up all night and sleeping in the day. All he knew was that he just got off work and was making his way home. His car radio wasn't any help either since the display was broken. He mumbled to himself, 'I knew I should've checked the time before I left...'

It's a long drive home. If he wasn't so tired the drive would be so much easier. To try and wake himself up, Scott rolled down the windows to let the cool autumn air slap him in the face. The back roads of Ohio are too dangerous to be falling asleep on them. After about another 20 minutes of driving, Scott took in a deep breathe of the cool outside air. He smelled something different on the air outside.

"What is that smell?" Scott questioned out loud. He took in another deep breathe through his nose. Suddenly he felt just a bit queasy and light headed. Just as he started to roll up the windows, a deer ran out in front of his car. *BAM* The front of the car ran right into the deer, the body rolling up onto the hood. The airbag in the steering wheel released with a massive force, hitting Scott right in the face. He stopped the car quickly and the body rolled back off the front. After that, to Scott's disbelief, the deer got up and took off. "What the~"

That was the last that Scott could remember. He jolted awake with his head leaning up against the slightly deflated airbag. He lifted his head up to look around. Scott found himself on an old dirt road, surrounded by tall and thick trees. This didn't look anything like any place he'd been before. After looking around, the pain started to set in on him. A massive headache, a sore neck and back, and a slight pain from his nose. Looking at the airbag showed some dried blood, presumably from when it hit his face. Scott could feel the dried blood right below his nose. He then reached over into the centerpiece and pulled out some napkins...

After cleaning his face up, Scott decided it was best to try and figure out where he was. Looking out the window, he could see a figure that looked like it was moving slowly toward his car. To be on the safe side, he took his pocket knife and rested it in his hand, still folded. Then he opened the door of his car and slowly stood up outside, looking towards the figure moving his direction.

Nicola's fingers lightly tapped a beat on the car door as she watched the passing scenery slow and finally come to a stop. She wondered where she was, and why. She also wondered when Quinn and Josh would notice her sitting in the backseat.

The morning was a rather cheery one. Nicola had shown up at Quinn's house early, eager to visit her friend and also see how Josh was handling the whole student transfer program thing. After gently refusing the shriveled, blackened remains of what probably was supposed to have been scrambled eggs, Nicola helped herself to a bowl of cereal, chatting amiably with Quinn's dad over the sounds of vomiting coming from the bathroom. Seeing Quinn finally emerge and snatch the grocery list from its place on the fridge, Nicola saw that it was time to excuse herself from the table, and after putting her silverware in the sink, she followed Quinn and Josh to the car.

Seeing their exhausted faces, it was no wonder neither Quinn nor Josh had taken note of Nicola's presence, and so, feeling it was best not to bother them awake just yet (though being a bit wary of Quinn's driving ability in such a state), Nicola sat quietly in the backseat, staring out the window and zoning out. It was a while before she remembered that the grocery store was only, what, three minutes from Quinn's house? Two? Whatever the case, the trip had been far too long for the grocery store to be a reasonable destination, and sure enough, when Nicola actually registered the scenery outside the window again, she found the surroundings to be quite unfamiliar to her. They were lost, weren't they? This thought was answered by the long wail of the car horn, and Nicola heaved a sigh.

At this point, she could only hope that Quinn knew what she was doing.

“Sorry to drag you into this,” Quinn mumbled, unbuckling the seat belt. “I could've at least picked up some food before getting us lost...” What a great way to welcome someone to Ohio. That is, if they were still there. She didn't think they were in Kansas Ohio anymore. Quinn gave another cursory glance out the windows. The silhouette of what might have been a house loomed beyond the immense trees. Like plenty of her encounters with Josh, this was horror movie material, so something weird would probably be stalking them soon. That was her cue to check the rear view mirror.

Don't do it, her more sensible side warned. After all, if there were someone back there, what would she do? Die, probably. The token blonde always dies. Better not look.

She grabbed her purse and unlocked the door. The car was old, so the other doors didn't automatically follow suit. She would leave, and whatever was there would still be locked in. If there was something. And there totally wasn't. Nope. Nothing there. Not in the slightest. Don't look, Quinn. Just don't. It isn't worth it.

Quinn couldn't take it anymore. Damned curiosity. Wincing at her own stupidity, she tilted the mirror.

She was greeted with a face.

Apparently, she had very good reflexes. The next thing she knew, the car door was wide open and she was crouched on the forest floor. Whether or not she gave a girly little shriek was completely irrelevant.

Scott clenched tightly around his closed contraption, thumb ready to flip the blade out. He couldn't see the figure moving at him very well at all. In the darkness under the surrounding heavy forest it was hard to see anything at all. Keeping a close watch on how far the figure was from him, he decided to take in more of his surroundings. He knew he'd need an escape route just in case. From his glances around, he could tell there was more to this forest than meets the eye. There seemed to be a clearing not too far with maybe some kind of building in the middle of it. Once again, it was hard to tell.

Scott started to tense up a little more. He took a look back at the person moving toward him. He was just about to yell at the mysterious identity when he heard a rather girlish shriek echo out through the woods. Scott, startled by the sudden sound, pivoted in place as he glanced around looking for where the noise came from. He also noted that the other individual seemed to have done the same.

Deciding to forget about that noise, Scott decided to confront this person. "Hey! Identify yourself." He yelled out. His voice seemed to echo out through the forest. Before they could answer, he questioned out loud. "Also, do you happen to know where I am?" Scott knew he was lost and it only seemed logical to try and find the way out of this mysterious place, even if he could have been asking a potential murderer...

Jess sighed, watching the wisp of mist from her breath escape into the air and quickly disappear. This trip had gone to all hell. She had planned to come down, and surprise Quinn and Josh and probably Nicola that she had managed to bushwak all the way from the Revelstoke mountain/rain forests/tropical snow storm/etc. to Ohio. Most of the trip had went good. She had made good time. Only a few weeks of straight travelling/sleeping. She travelled lightly, bringing only necessities. Bagpipes, some extra clothes, little food, maps, compass, knife, rope and a sleeping bag. She checked the map she was using, and realized there were no landmarks whatsoever nearby that matched any of the ones on her map. Any of them, if she would've care to check. But she didn't.

Throwing the map off to the side, she watched it flutter off in the wind with another sigh. She started off again the way she was already going, not caring where she ended up. A few minutes passed of pushing aside branches and stepping through the underbrush, before all the blockage she was leaning against seemingly disappeared, and she fell face first into grassy clearing, the weight on her back making her fall seem a lot harder than it should have.

Pushing herself up, she caught her breath and sat up cross legged looking out into the clearing she had unwittingly stumbled in to. Very nice, peaceful, and not creepy at all. A squirrel chittered past her and off into the brush. She smiled as it went. The sun beamed down onto her face as she saw a bird fly across the sky. She looked away for a second and saw something sneak through the bushes. A snake perhaps? Her interest distracted her from the bird flying across the sky. Distracted her from it, as it flew between her and the sun, casting a malicious shadow over her. Her interest was broken as the bird let out it's wretched 'caw'.

Jerking back into reality, for the first time she noticed that the sky was almost covered with thunderheads, and the last clear part of the sky surrounding the sun was being absorbed, slowly, but surely by the dark gray, purple tinged puffs of cloud. For the first time, she realized the tendrils of mist creeping through the brush, like tentacles waiting to grab her and take her away.

For the first time, she realized the huge, creepy mansion sitting in the middle of the clearing.

As if on cue, she thought she might of heard a high-pitched girly shriek coming from elsewhere in the forest. She jumped slightly, and recovering herself, she set off towards the mountain, the 'tentacles waiting to grab her' thing poking at her mind and not wanting to be violated today, deciding heading inside would be the best idea. She dared a glance up at the sky, and saw there wasn't going to be sun for much longer, and the clouds looked heavy with rain. A wind picked up, at her back going towards the mansion. She could almost hear it whispering.

'Come on in, cutie. Dust yourself off, and have some warmth before you set off again. Ain't nothin' gonna touch you in here.'

As much as her common sense told her it was a bad idea to listen to voices in the wind and go exploring creepy mansions in the middle of nowhere, she kept going. Right up to the double, iron doors, four times as tall as the 5'2" girl that stood before them. She gave a sigh, not the first and definitely not the last, and pushed the door open to a squealing of unoiled hinges that hurt her ears. Flicking her platinum blonde hair out of her eye, the wind picked up, and she would've sworn she heard someone's thoughts about token blondes.

She also could've sworn she heard that voice in the wind chuckling.

'Don't worry there, sweetheart. You're perfectly safe for now. It's no fun when there's only one! Wait until the other guest arrive, and the party will start...'

Jess spat in the direction of the wind and walked into the mansion.
