Today is another hot day in the Kanto Region. With temperatures up to hundred-ten degrees-" Violet turned off her television and stood up to stretch. Today was the registration day for new Breeder's at Professor Oak's lab. And of course it had to be on a day when the sun was scorching the Earth! If anyone was to ask Violet what was one thing on her top ten list of things she hates, hot temperatures would be in the top three. She absolutely hated to sweat, especially if she was going to something of great importance to her.
Before even opening the door she made a mental checklist of everything she needed.
Water bottle, check. I.D., check. Bag, check. Registration forms... She rummaged through her bag looking for the stack of papers Professor Oak had sent to her about a week ago. Gone. Where in hell could she placed them?! Frantically, she ran up stairs practically destroying her room looking for the registration papers. Nowhere to be seen. Letting out a sigh of defeat, she dragged herself down the stairs. At the bottom she noticed a stack of papers above the refrigerator from the corner of her eye. Facepalm.
"
You really need to be more collected, Violet." Releasing yet another sigh, she stuffed the papers into her bag and finally dashed out the door. Professor Oak only lived right next door. But he lived upon a high hill in their small Pallet Town. Which would be the hardest part of her trek. Ever since Violet was a little girl, Professor Oak had always been apart of her family. He gave her mother her first Pokemon when she was ten years old. Basically was a father figure for her. Her mother even brought Violet to him on her tenth birthday for a Pokemon, but the trainer lifestyle was not her cup of tea. She was more than capable of raising the creatures and fighting them, but Violet didn't really care for the actual fighting.
She was better at nursing and raising them. Experience came from the ones in her garden. Eight years later, Violet was walking up to the door of Professor Oak's Lab to become a licensed Breeder! Three knocks were rasped on the large cedar doors. She stood their patiently for the elderly man to open up.
"
Grandpa Ooooaaaakkk! It's Violet!!" She yelled as she tapped three more times. The doors swung open, and in front of her was a tall man wearing a white lab coat. His hair was gray and he wore a smile on his face. Professor Samuel Oak.
"
I've been waiting for you dear. Please come inside so we can get started." The soon to be breeder followed the Pokemon expert to the largest part of his lab, the ranch. The ranch stored all of his Pokemon. From ones he caught as a trainer, to some he has raised to give away, and to some of his favorite trainers which he holds for. The walked over to the Breeding Center. The Professor took her registration papers and began to put her into the database. A few moments later, and her own Breeder I.D. shot out of the computer. He turned to her with a grin and handed over the license.
"
Here you go Miss Violet Entwhistle. Official and professional Pokemon Breeder!" Violet took the identification card then wrapped him in a hug. With a laugh, Oak stepped back after she released him.
"
I also have a gift for you. Do you remember your mother's Espeon? The one she had before going back to the islands? Well last week I received a package from your mother. It was an egg that Espeon had. And well shortly after arrival, it hatched!" Seconds after he spoke a small brown creature walked up. Violet stared down in awe. And Eevee! The small Eevee looked at Violet and smiled gleefully before running towards her. Violet bent down to pick up and cradle the baby Pokemon.
"
Aren't you just the most adorable thing! It is for me right?!" Oak stepped towards Violet and pulled out a small collar. On the collar was a tag with a name already etched into it.
"
Your mother sent her just for you. Even with a name already." He buckled the collar around the small Eevee's neck, which fitted perfectly. The name on the tag was, Maia. That name was very special to Violet, the name was what she called her stuffed Eevee doll as a little toddler. Fitted perfectly for this type of Pokemon. With tears in her eyes, Violet said thank you and gave the Professor a kiss on the cheek. He gave her the needed supplies so she could finally start her journey. As Violet and her new companion walked out the door, Professor Oak waved them off. This was the beginning of a new friendship. One that would be trialed and be put in the toughest of situations. In the end, they would come out stronger than ever helping the Pokemon of the world becoming the best that they could be!
