Ivan's Route 36 Travels [Closed for Now]

Ivan had just left Violet City for the first time since defeating Falkner.  He was actually glad to leave that city and get back out into the wilderness for a while.  There were just too many negative things that he had encountered during his time in Violet City for him to stay there for any longer than he had to.
 

  Ivan just started walking with four pokemon trailing behind him until he was forced to stop.....................

Ivan froze up completely and swerved around. All of his thief senses warned him he was being followed, and a definate scraping of leaves not far from the bushes could reach his ear. It was probably just a wild pokemon... Or maybe something much more sinister?

Ivan carefully walked over towards the noise.  His pokemon followed his lead and walked quietly over to investigate the noise.

Ivan poked his nose through the ropey vines that drawled from the topside branches. Through one thick branch, splitting into two and creating a forked piece of discarded bark, did Ivan notice a tall, horned pokemon he had never encountered before. Naturally, he pulled out the Pokedex from his backside pocket.

"Bzzt." the handheld machine rattled into life. "This pokemon is a STANTLER," Ivan sighed a deep, long 'Ahhh...' in realization. "It's curved antlers subtly change the flow of air to create a strange space where reality is distorted."

Really? It's horns did that? The thief looked up from his virtual screen to see the Stantler gently mewing at the sodden grass, dripping from the downpour earlier. The horns curved outwards from the deer-like pokemon's skull, then curved back inwards. Just above the ears, in between the two antlers, where two spherical blobs that didn't seem to quite fit. Ivan stared at the horns, pondering the mystery for a while, before Dodger brushed against his ankle.

Oh, had he been under a trance those few minutes? Ivan couldn't quite remember how long he had been standing there, looking at the majestic deer, and those piercing spheres. The thief shook it off.

  Ivan shook his head and broke out of the trance that he had been in.  This pokemon seemed all too majestic for some strange reason.  Ivan then looked at his pokemon and put his index finger to his lips, as if to indicate for them to remain silent.  He took one final look at the Stantler and then started slowly back-pedaling.  Ivan felt like this creature should be left alone, since it wasn't disturbing anything.  He would only fight it if he felt like he needed to..... and he certainly wouldn't try to capture it after his fiasco with Kecleon.  So, Ivan tried slowly sneaking away to continue his journey down the path west away from Violet City.

Ivan broke off from the Stantler - surely such a calm and peaceful creature shouldn't be subjected to battle against it's will? He continued down the worn and gritty path, only to hear nothingness. The route hear to Azalea City was all to quiet. Infact, it was so empty and alone, Azalea City was in sight and Ivan had still not been attacked. Putting two and two together, Ivan came to the assumption that it was cold and wet and that was probably why the pokemon were burrowed in warm hollows beneath the ground or safe up in trees away from soaking predatorial pokemon.

(Azalea in site?  Not quite, since Azalea's nowhere near Route 36.  But, since there's no pokemon running around, time to mix things up.)

Ivan had continued to walk westward on Route 36 for a while.  The earlier rainshower had caused all of the pokemon to take refuge.  Even the nocturnal pokemon seemed to be staying away, which was slightly unusual.  Ivan just shrugged his shoulders and continued walking, enjoying the cool damp air.  After a long and uneventful walk, Ivan came to a fork in the road.  Going straight ahead would have brought him to Route 35 and the National Park, which held occasional Bug Catching Contests.  To the south, Ivan knew that the Ruins of Alph were situated, which was a random detour to get to Route 32.  Ivan did realize that this was the route that most trainers took on their way to Azalea Town and Ivan to do the same..... eventually.  Instead, Ivan turned north to go to Route 37.  He saw something on his Town Map earlier that caught his attention.  So, Ivan changed direction and started walking straight north onto the pathway of Route 37.

(Never played G/S/HG/SS, so I don't know what is in the Johto region. Sorry, I took an intuitive guess and I'm guessing you can catch glimpses of the city past the other route, or something. Meh. I also don't know what it is you are headed to, if it's something you want me to make up or a site that actually is there in game, so...)

Ivan arrived at the three-pronged fork, deciding to take the northbound route towards Route 37. The clouds here hadn't reached as far, and it felt alot warmer and breezier on this direct path. Several of the wild pokemon nearby were still in semi-hibernation; but none of the pokemon that were out currently really looked like worthy opponents. Ivan drew closer towards the marker on his map. It looked vaguely interesting.
