Daniel V Joshua - Route 2

"Hehe, kissing a tree. Anyway, lets try using the ultimate move! METRONOME!"

Togetic started rhythmically rocking its body back and forth, in preparation of its METRONOME attack.  While it was zoning out with its focus, Tails saw the opening that it needed to get in close and attack Togetic with a close-ranged TACKLE.  Umbreon slammed into the flying pokemon, but was unable to knock over Togetic or even budge him.  Instead, after absorbing the blow, Togetic grabbed Umbreon and tossed it into the trunk of a nearby tree with a mighty VITAL THROW.  Umbreon stretched its back out and got up gingerly after the attack while Togetic was clapping its hands together happily.

Umbreon: 22%
Togetic: 70%

"Yeah! Nice one Togepi! let's try it once more!"

^{"Uh-oh..." Joshua bent over and sighed. Going much longer like this, and Tails would be down. Why didn't he have much luck in his PvP battles? "Okay, Tails... Stay behind that tree! Use Leer, okay?"}

As Togetic swayed its body back and forth again, Tails ran in the opposite way and hid behind a tree.  Togetic saw where Tails had hid and flew over to attack it.  As it was testing out its newly formed wings while bobbing up and down in the air, Togetic scanned the area and found what it was looking for: a small puddle.  Aided by its METRONOME, Togetic flew towards the puddle, dousing Tails with a devastating.... SPLASH ATTACK.  Tails' muzzle was slightly wetter as a result of the attack.  As Togetic happily splashed around it the puddle, Tails could only LEER at Togetic with annoyance.

Umbreon: 22%
Togetic: 70% (DEF -1)

Daniel stood still, mouth wide open. "Uhh..........I was not expecting that to happen. Never mind. Togetic, try Sweet Kiss once more!"

^{"Tails! You've rested for long enough, tackle with full force! Hopefully you'll knock Togetic back and Sweet Kiss will be avoided!"}

Tails took the initiative, leaping out from behind the tree and flying into its opponent with deadly grace and accuracy. The two went through the air, the triumphant Umbreon landing atop its opponent as it slammed the Togetic into the ground, pinning it there with a jet black paw. The Togetic looked up at Tails with big eyes and gently laid a kiss on the Pokemon's paw. Tails, confused at this action, stumbled off of Togetic and looked at it with an unsure expression on its face. Tails' eyes flashed, Togetic's flashing directly afterwards. Togetic now seemed to wear the same confused expression as the Umbreon, Tails' Synchronize seeming to go to work.

Umbreon: 22% [CONFUSED]
Togetic: 30% (DEF -1) [CONFUSED]

"Owch! That had to hurt. Don't worry about it though and use Metronome!"

^{"Oh no! Tails, you're confused, aren't you?" Joshua cried. At least, she had taken Togetic with her. "Ngh, eat your hold item! Your Oran berry! You can do it, without attacking yourself, kay!"}

(2 notes out of character:
1) I'm pretty sure that Synchronize does not get activated by Confusion.  I'm pretty sure that it just applies to Burn, Paralysis, and Poison statuses.
2) Technically, since Umbreon is HOLDING the berry, it shouldn't count for a turn.  If you gave the berry to Umbreon from the pack, then it does count as a turn.

That being said, let's just roll with things and go from there)

  Both pokemon tried focusing in on each other, but were both struggling to keep their balance, due to their confusion.  Tails was the first to act, it stumbled forward for a moment before turning its head and pulling out a Oran Berry.  Tails ate the berry without too much of a struggle, regaining some of its health.
  Meanwhile, Togetic was looking on in amazement.  It had no clue where Tails got a berry from or how it could hold onto it throughout the entire battle without being noticed.  As Togetic looked on in amused amazement, it lost its balance and fell forward onto the hard ground.  It hurt itself in a confused fall.

Umbreon: 32% [CONFUSED]
Togetic: 20% (DEF -1) [CONFUSED]

<sup>(Well, I thought Confusion counted as a status problem, and Synchronize reflected all status problems back on the user. And also, I didn't think anybody would note down Tails was holding a berry unless I announced it, so I didn't mind missing a turn. You win some, you lose some, right? Let's just roll on with this.)

Joshua began to consider how extremely lucky he was becoming throughout this battle. So much so that he felt particularly brave, and adrenaline pumped through his body and urged him to make an offensive move.

"Haha, alright! Okay Tails, time to finish this! You're amazing, just one more ub3r tackle!"</sup>

"Ugh! You can do it Togetic! Try Metronome again!"

:)  Now on to business.>

Togetic and Tails were both staring at each other, trying to find the will to fight.  Togetic was the first to act it this instance, fighting through its confusion to star swaying back and forth, slowly at first.  It had successfully initiated its METRONOME attack.  Seeing Togetic going deep into a trance-like state, Tails took its chances and raced forward to try and knock Togetic out with a TACKLE.  As it raced towards its foe, Tails' confusion got the better of it; Tails helplessly tripped up and landed with a thud at Togetic's feet, hurting itself in the process.  Meanwhile, Togetic was swaying faster and faster, unable to stop itself or control the rhythm of its swaying pattern.  Togetic was straining with all of its might to control itself, but it finally succumbed to its own attack.  Joshua and Daniel could only look on in awe as they saw Togetic let out a primal scream before being enveloped in a bright flash of white light.  The two trainers had to shield their eyes for a moment as the bright light was too stunning to look straight into.  After a few seconds, the duo heard a loud EXPLOSION and felt a shockwave of energy that nearly made them fall to the ground.  When they were able to look into the battle area again, they saw that both Tails and Togetic were laying on the ground, unconscious.

This battle is over.  The result is: a draw!

Joshua was speechless. They had drawn? The battle had gone better than expected. But Tails had been hurt, and Joshua was quite worried. It was normal, for Pokemon to battle like this, wasn't it?
