Alright, so I'm haveing trouble beating Whitney. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?

Just try and get Togepi stronger so mertronome is stronger. That what I did to defeat Whitney. But I started with Chikorita.

Okay, against her Miltank, you wanna stay away from Physical attacks. All that leaves is Ember, Thundershock, Extrasensory, and Thunder Wave. Miltanks natural Stats have its Sp. Def lower. What sucks though is that Miltank has Attract as an Attack.

Do the same with the Clefairy obviously, it has Cute Charm on it. For the Clefairy, I also suggest trying to use your only Female, Furret. Just Spam Quick Attack with Furret.

Which version do you have, Daniel? I probably want SS, but if you have it, I'd get HG (because then we could trade HG and SS only Pokemon!)

I have HG, and have 8 badges, but trying to defeat the Pokemon Leauge.

The quickest answer would be: Machop.  Just like in the original 2nd gen. games, you'll need to catch a Drowzee (Routes 34/ 35).  Then, go to the 4th floor of the Goldenrod Department store and trade for Machop.  I'm not sure if that Machop is always going to be Male (it probably is), but try Saving before the trade and reset until you get a female (if possible).  Do some training before entering the gym, or else Whitney will still destroy the Machop.  Clefairy isn't too bad, but Miltank can be a beast.  Paralyzing it with Thunder Wave may not be the worst idea before hitting it with Special Attacks and fighting moves.

Also, Ember may not be the best idea.  Miltank is probably packing Thick Fat as its ability.

Actually, The Miltank is holding a Lum berry, which recovers it from a status condition. And its ability is not Thick Fat.

I say Machop is not necessary but he is a Physical Fighter, Miltank's weakest point is against Special Attacks.

If it didn't have milk drink I would of beaten it a while ago.

Just be grateful that it doesn't have Curse as well.  I used one for a while on Shoddy... and the 'CurseTank'  was amazing!

He's not screwed you know. Jake has pretty much the same team I did, save for the fact I don't have a Furret. Although, mine were levelwise in the high twenties, so that might have a thing to do with it.

I suggest just raising your Pokemon a bit, and thinking of something that could help you. Status problems should be helpful. Togepi should be able to make them fall asleep, which should make them easy pickings for you.
