Ivan vs Tucker (Team Shade)

[Tucker]

"Oh no you don't! Try an use TACKLE a hard as you can to break free!"

[RedFox]

  Ivan was glad that his plot was working, but now it was time to finish off the pillaging Phanpy. 

"Dodger!  First, use a SCRATCH right below the hanging Phanpy to expose some of those buried roots!  Then, it'll be your turn Anubis!  Use an EMBER on the roots to create a nice funeral pyre for Phanpy!"

Ivan's face seemed to contort a little.  He should be showing at least some regret for what he was about to do, but he realized that he had to do whatever it takes to defeat this madman.

As Dodger was using SCRATCH to expose some roots out of the ground, Phanpy struggled with the vine to get free. The blue elephant Pokemon used TACKLE and it was not the vine that gave way, but the branch it was tied to, which snapped under the weight and force of the Phanpy. The Pokemon tumbled through the air, landing directly on top of Dodger, who seemed to not be having much luck with plans involving trees. Anubis still used its EMBER attack, however, just as Phanpy was getting off of Dodger and stepping on the roots, and the fire exploded into an enormous blaze as it reached the roots, although some of the attack had hit Dodger as well.

Anubis: 55% (Attack -1)
Dodger: 25% (Attack -1) (Defense +1)

Phanpy: 10%

[Tucker]

"Yes! Just as I thoght! Let's do a full charge TACKLE at Sentret!"

[RedFox]

The plan hadn't worked out exactly as Ivan had hoped, but he was willing to accept what came about.  Once again, Anubis seemed to be ready to take out a weakened pokemon.  

"Anubis!  Finish off that Phanpy!  Run into the blazing inferno and give off a final EMBER to take out that pesky pokemon!"

"Dodger, use another DEFENSE CURL to prepare yourself for the last leg of this battle.  But first, it's snack time again.  Eat the Oran Berry that you have with you*!"

Ivan was ready to finish off the Phanpy and get ready for what was to be the trio's toughest challenge, yet.

Anubis rushed into the blazing flames just as Phanpy attempted to launch itself at Dodger with a TACKLE. The Houndour quickly spit out a cloud of flames which stopped the elephant in its tracks. Phanpy fainted just as Dodger used DEFENSE CURL and gobbled down the ORAN BERRY it had with it.

Anubis: 55% (Attack -1)
Dodger: 65% (Attack -1) (Defense +2)

Phanpy: FAINTED

"GAH! This is not happening! Rhyhorn, get over here now! Let's finish this!"
Tucker was madder than ever now that he had lost 2 pokemon to none.

(I believe that Sentret just climbed to the ranks of level 8 with that victory.)

"2 down, one to go!" thought Ivan to himself as he steadied his nerves, figuring out a strategy for taking out the bad man's last pokemon.  A quick glance at the Podedex indicated that the last pokemon was a Rhyhorn; other than that, the pokedex didn't help at all.  Ivan quickly assessed his situation:

-Ivan had a 2 to 1 advantage.. GOOD
-That Rhyhorn looks like it's built like a tank..... NOT GOOD
-The Rhyhorn looks like it would move as well as a tank does..... GOOD

Ivan weighed his options before another plan started emerging in his head.  There was still one piece of terrain that he could possibly use to his advantage, but he needed to get the Rhyhorn to the western edge of town.  Sighing, Ivan was ready to continue battling.

"Great job, guys, but this may be the toughest opponent yet!  You can do it, though.... you must !"

Ivan decided to stick to the woods for the time being, until he could fully enact his plan.  He also decided to use speed and quickness as his allies, hoping to confuse and frustrate the lumbering Rhyhorn.

"Alright, here we go, guys!"

"Anubis, shoot an EMBER into Rhyhorn's eyes and try to blind it, then take off running.  Use side-to-side movement to try and shake that pokemon!"

"Dodger!  Run and SCRATCH off another vine!"

"Both of you stay away from that pokemon's front and stick to its sides."

..And now, the fun begins.

[Tucker]

"Ok Rhyhorn, it's all up to you now. Just stay still and wait untill one of them makes contact with you, then BAM! You use HORN ATTACK and throw 'em in the air!"

[Brooke]

(Oh! By the way, you get 100% of EXP in a major site villain battle, not just 50%, but seeing as it is 2 V 1, that EXP is halved between the two, granting them both 5 EXP for the first battle and 2.5 EXP each for the last one. Which you've probably already done. ::] )

Anubis fired its signature move EMBER directly into Rhyhorn's face with surprising intensity after all of its fire power boosts. Dodger, meanwhile, skipped towards the trees, using SCRATCH to free another vine and hopping back towards the battlefield. Rhyhorn got irritated that neither of Ivan's Pokemon intended on getting near him and unexpectedly charged with a HORN ATTACK at Anubis, launching him into the air as Tucker had planned.

Anubis: 35% (Attack -1)
Dodger: 65% (Attack -1) (Defense +2)

Rhyhorn: 65%

Ivan was worried about his Houndour.  It would not last very long in battle if it was in air during the battle.  Once again, Ivan hoped that the numbers-game and unusual strategies would pay off for him.  But first.....


"Anubis!  Come over here; I've got something for you!"  Ivan went through the pouch that he had pilfered from the pillager and pulled out a Potion that he had stolen. 

As Houndour ran back towards Ivan, not wanting to leave Sentret in battle by itself for too long, Ivan gave further instructions.

"Dodger, so far so good.  Be careful and listen!  Use a QUICK ATTACK and loop that vine around Rhyhorn's mouth and use it like a bridle.  Hold on tight to the vine and be careful!  Try to drive that Rhyhorn to the west!"

Ivan worked quickly to use the spray-potion, hoping that this was enough to keep both of his pokemon in the battle.

[Tucker]

"Ok Rhyhorn, try and jump when that pokemon comes down towards you and use HORN ATTACK  to make it  crash into those trees by that other pokemon while it's still in midair!"

[Jake]

Anubis trotted to his master, and was sprayed with a potion (+20 health) but screamed from the stinging of the potion.

Dodger used it's speed and shot across the field to get the vine around the Rhyhorn's mouth, but Rhyhorn jumped out of the way. Sentret noticed it missed, made a U-turn, but not quick enough, and hit a tree. Sentret then turned around and dove over the enemy pokemon. It wrapped the vine around, and just for fun, kicked to Rhyhorn. The Sentret then spun the Rhyhorn to the west.

Anubis: 55% (Attack -1)
Dodger: 63% (Attack-1) (Defense +2)
