Coordinator Contests?

I noticed that everytime we have had a coordiantor contest topic, its always been blank. Why don't we try having a contest? It's just something I noticed..

I am in total favor of Grace's suggestion! And not just because she's my younger sister.

How can the Coordinators of PA fulfill the full duties of Coordinatordom if we can't compete in any contests for our ribbons?! Haha. But, yeah, I totally agree.

Well what I think should happen is first, the contestants have to RP exactly what they want their Pokemon to do. There should probably be a few NCP's thrown in as well, to add to the contest. Then those chosen to be judges should decide which ones are the best (As in language, idea and stuff) and then they can progress to the fighting round, where the judges choose who battles who. And then the winner gets the ribbon... yadayadayada...

Also, the Judge's should be people who have been known not to have favouritism towards any member.

Actually, quite a few days before this topic, I came up with such an idea and posted it to the staff board. Nobody's really paid any attention to it, so I see no harm posting it here.

Well, at the beggining, there are 8 people (be it 1 PC and 7 NPC, our 6 PC and 2 NPC) who are split into two groups of four. After sorting out all the basics, they get changed into fashion clothes or whatever thhey want, fix up thier pokemon's beauty, doing stuff you'd generally do before an event, then a good idea is to have them RP going on stage, with the crowd going wild and the announcer booming over the mic. Then when it is thier turn, they choose a move and how to perform it beautifully, like send bubblebeams into the air, and as they pop around you, twirl around, then a reff (or judge) comes along and reffs the move, saying what happened, what went wrong etc, and give them a move rating out of 10. The higher the score, the better the move went. However, there are certain factors that change a good move: Pokemon clothes, Pokemon Happiness, STAT (Beauty: 10% Toughness: 0% etc.) And factors that decrease: Moves (Take down is more of a Tough move then cute), Pokemon Looks, Moves of other Pokemon. Then the judge posts the opponents moves and thier score, and then at the end of 5 turns, the scores and rounded up. The highest person with a score wins, and your Pokemon gains +10% in whatever catagory they performed in. However, this is too easy to win a ribbon, so you must go through 2 rounds of it, getting progressively harder as the better people stay on. On the second new round, only the three that completed the first round stay on. After another person is knocked out, comes the closing rounds. The battle rounds. Out of the four people left over, they are randomly paired together to double-battle. Each player (be they a PC or a NPC) must make the most interesting batle they can. They don't even have to win, if the judge says they gave flavour to the battle and made it interesting even though they lost, they could still be crowned winner of that round. Then, the pair that won can eithier decide to split the winning money and prizes, or go to a final battle to decide who the 'true' winner is.

Anyway, that's basically the idea of a contest, plus, they are a LOT longer than gym battles, so you can brag that to a trainer or thief friend ;).

No, the judge is just like a reff. Someone pops in, judges, and if gone, someone else reffs. Just like wild encounters.

Yup, and that just leaves the idea of where to put the contest Halls. Shall we say 1 contest hall for every gym in town? Or contest halls in non-gym towns, to make them more re-visitable?
