When you battle, you should first let your ref know what Pokemon you're using, the Gender, and the Level. This is unnecessary only if your Pokemon information is visible in your signature. Then, after your opponent chooses his Pokemon, both of you ought to post what move you would like your Pokemon to use. The ref will then post how the round turned out, and the battle will keep going like so from there, alternating between the players' orders and the ref's narration. For Wild encounters, the same process goes, except for that when battling, Wild Pokemon, there will be nobody shouting out what moves they are supposed to use.

I will show you an example of what to do for wild encounters.

While on Route 1, Jimmy was walking, admiring the scenery, when he heard a rustling in the bushes! He looked to see what could be there.

After you do that, you can choose your Pokemon and attack right then, or wait to see what the Pokemon is. The species, level, and gender of the Pokemon you encounter is decided by the ref, chosen out of Pokemon available on that route. Be sure to boost your ref's Ref Score to show appreciation for how they're helping you out.

While battling wild pokemon, once at a low enough health point, you will be able to catch them. First, you must be absolutely sure that you have a Pokeball in your inventory with which you may catch the Pokemon. Then, post something to let your ref know that you want to catch the Pokemon. The ref will then decide whether or not your attempt to catch the Pokemon was successful. Here's an example:

Jake: Jake saw that the health of the wild Pikachu was getting low, and pulled out a Pokeball, tossing it into the air. "Go, Pokeball!" he shouted.
Joshua: The Pikachu was sucked into the Pokeball, and the red and white sphere rocked back and forth a few times... then clicked shut! Gratz! You caught Pikachu! Would you like to nickname it?

And the encounter would go to that effect. Happy catching!

To travel throughout whichever region it is that you chose to be in, it's best to do quests and other general roleplaying as you go. Make your own topic in each place that you enter and describe all that your character does there. When you're done questing and exploring in the wild, and want to move on to the next place, you have to make a very simple post in your Bio Updates.

Updating the change from one place to another is pretty much the simplest thing to do. All you have to do is, after the quest you did are updated and you're done with your wild encounters and they're updated, you post in the Bio Updates...

I would like to move to ....

...and then say where it is your character is entering. This is mostly to keep track of everybody's whereabouts, especially to make it easy to see if two players are in the same place and can therefore battle one another.

Thief
Conniving, cunning, and sinister, the Thief terrorizes the community by stealing Pokemon. Thieves are usually found as grunts in the various criminal Teams that plague the different regions of the world. Thieves can capture another trainer's Pokemon by weakening it in battle. However, when a Thief loses a battle, he must hand over all of his stolen Pokemon and Yen to the winning trainer.

Skills:
-[Level 001] Pokemon Thievery: Unlike the other classes, Thieves can steal other trainer's -Pokemon by weakening them in battle and throwing a "Steal Ball" at them. When a Thief defeats an opponent he may take all their Yen and all their Pokemon. However, at any time a thief loses a battle they must hand over all of the Pokemon and Yen he stole to the victor. A thief can not steal a Pokemon from an opponent if when they have no other Pokemon on them.

-[Level 001]: Poor Training: Unlike the other classes, Thieves Pokemon tend to disobey them a lot quicker, which means they have to collect badges a little hastier.

-[Level 001]: One time per month the thief can do a quest role play to acquire 600 Yen so long as they are in a city when they do it.

-[Level 002]: Once per month (again as a quest RP) when in a city, the thief can get a small, simple item such as a potion, or berry.

-[Level 003]: Once per month when in the wilderness (outside of any city), the thief can role play a quest stealing any common Pokemon from an NPC trainer. This can be any common Pokemon from any region and will be level 10. The Pokemon must be in the Route.

-[Level 004]: Once per month, the thief can do a role play quest to steal any uncommon or common Pokemon from an NPC trainer. Again this can be any Pokemon from any region so long as it is not rare. It will be level 12. The level 4 ability over rides the level 3 one, thus the thief can only gain one Pokemon per month in this manner. The Pokemon must be in the Route or town you are in or earlier.

-[Level 005]: Once per month, the thief can use a role play quest in a city to steal one more uncommon useful item such as fishing rods or items like experience shares.

-[Level 006]: Once per month, in the wilderness, the thief can role play a quest stealing any one rare or lower Pokemon from an NPC trainer. This Pokemon will be at level 20.

-[Level 007]: Once per month as a role play quest, the the thief can steal a Pokemon from another character that is in the same location as the thief. There is no defense against this. The only Pokemon that can be taken though are ones in the other trainers inactive box. The Pokemon must be in the Route or town you are in or earlier.

As you can see from this a well played, active thief can wind up with lots of money, useful items and some really good Pokemon if they put their mind to it. They wont be able to advance them as fast as trainers do, but they can use their ill gotten gains to sell or trade for stuff they need more (like training maybe)

Cgal

Hi, Nicola here - the forum seems to not like the Cgal embed anymore, but if you still want to leave a once-every-few-years "hello", the chat box itself still exists and you can access it here: [link]
